My neighbor’s daughter found some feral kittens out in the barn. She didn’t know what to do with them, so she brought them over. Of course I took them. Who can say, “no” to two tiny, hissing, dander-y balls of fur?
Did I mention I am allergic to cats? I dosed up on benedryl and my niece and I bottle fed them for a couple days until we could find a proper cat rescue to take them in, which was more difficult than I expected. Apparently the unwanted and feral cat population in the Phoenix area is seriously out of control due to people leaving cats behind after foreclosures. Rescues are full. CatADo.org was kind enough to take them in, and one of their foster volunteers will bottle feed the babies until they’re old enough to be neutered, vaccinated and adopted.
Update – both kitties have been adopted : )
